Protect your PDF

I often send document to customers document created from OpenOffice in PDF format. To protect your hardwork add a PDF password.

PDFTK from Stewart Sid is excellent and has many functions as detailed on the website but I use it for protecting PDF documents. Windows and Linux versions available.

Windows Install.
Download PDFTK and copy pdftk.exe into
c:/windows/system32


To password protect and allow printing (unable to change or copy/paste document)

pdftk inputfile.pdf output output.pdf owner_pw password allow printing

When you install Solaris 11/11 from standard text installer cdrom, the en_GB-UTF-8 locales are not installed, even if you select British locales on install. Scheduled network capture on Windows using Wireshark (tshark.exe)

A customer had an iSCSI issue and was required to capture network packets at a specific time on a Windows 2008 server.
